When I walk on November 2nd, it will be my 11th Walk to End Alzheimers.
Every year I talk about my Grammy Ruth. I focus on the influence that she was in my life, how I miss her everyday, and how lucky I was that her dementia never took her memory of her family.
I will always walk for my grandmother. But over the years, I’ve heard from more and more friends about how this disease is affecting their families. Alzheimer’s is rampant. So this year I walk for many more as well:
for Liz’s dad, Tom
for Allison’s mom
For John’s mom, Jane
for Tracy’s grandfather, Dennis
for Katie and Sean’s Grandpa Charlie
for Annie’s grandmother and grandfather, Mimi and Buddy
for Andrea’s mom
…and if you or someone you know is suffering, I am walking for you too
Alzheimer’s is the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death. The funds we raise help to provide care and support for those affected while advancing vital research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
