Terrance (Terry) Michael Thompson, 77, passed away peacefully on November 20th. A beloved father, husband, brother, grandpa, uncle, friend, businessman, and golfer, Terry will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, wisdom, gentle spirit, quick wit and secret love for karaoke.

Terry Thompson was born in North Platte Nebraska to Dorothy (Stern) and Lohren Thompson. He grew up with his brother, Clark Thompson, and sister, Sheila Johnson and have remained close in distance, business and beautiful memories.

Terry met the love of his life, Janice K. Thompson, in Denver in 1968 and together they built a life centered around family, travel, theater and a love for sports. He was a devoted father to his son, Travis Thompson, who passed on August 1, 1993, and to his daughter, Melissa Hourigan, whom he raised to embody his values of integrity, hard work and perseverance. Terry welcomed his son-in-law and golf partner, Tim Hourigan and his three grandchildren, Michaela, Ashlynn, and Elijah Hourigan, always in crowd, supporting their events, concerts and theatrical events.

Terry's talent for sports emerged early; he was a skilled baseball pitcher at Arvada High School and went on to become an exceptional golfer, achieving the rare feat of five holes-in-one throughout his life. After graduating from Colorado State University, Terry's love for numbers led him into a fulfilling career and in retirement, a penchant for investing and a gift that has inspired and benefitted his family and grandchildren.

Terry began his career with Husky Oil before dedicating a lifetime to Colorado Petroleum, where he worked closely with his father and brother, Clark, for the majority of his career, Even after retiring at the age of 60, Terry continued to play an active role, managing finances and making key decisions long into his retirement, even concerned with making sure orders were filled in his final days.

Known for his wisdom and unwavering support, Terry was a mentor to all, encouraging those around him to do the right thing, keep to a schedule, as he would say, "I like to be early" and lead a healthy lifestyle. His influence will endure through the values he instilled in his family and friends.
