Although I haven't been a primary caregiver for my loved ones with dementia, I've experienced the emotional toll this disease takes on families. Watching relatives navigate memory loss and confusion has deepened my understanding of just how challenging Alzheimer's and other dementias can be.
Professionally, I've worked as a caregiver in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, specializing in dementia care. I've seen firsthand how these disease impact not only those diagnosed but also their families. As a social worker, I've had the privilege of supporting families through the complex and often overwhelming journey of caring for a loved one with dementia.
This work has shown me the importance of compassion, patience, and community. It's why I'm walking in the Walk to End Alzheimer's. I believe that by raising awareness and supporting research, we can bring hope to those affected and move toward a future without Alzheimer's.
Thank you for joining me in this cause - whether you choose to walk, donate, or share this page, every bit helps in the fight against this devasting disease.
