First of all, thank you for all your support in what is such a big part of my life: bringing awareness and finding a cure for this awful disease. I want to witness the first WHITE flower in the Promise Garden which means the first survivor and a huge step closer to a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. This year's Walk to End Alzheimer's will be the 16th year for Team George and I hope it’s the best one. HOPE is my word for 2025 because there are two FDA-approved treatments and now an FDA-approved blood test that could lead to early detection and diagnosis.
I recently visited my mom and witnessed at her neurology appointment, the cognitive decline she has had in the last year. As a result, Sandy and I are making arrangements to move her closer to us. I ask for your thoughts and prayers over the next several months. Our journey as caregivers is not new and as long-time volunteers with the Alzheimer’s Association, we are aware of the many resources available to us and of course, can lean on our community for needed support.
I continue to advocate to my congressional representatives to commit to funding research and providing access to breakthrough treatments. Currently, more than 7 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2060. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together we can #ENDALZ. Please make a donation to advance the case, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. I have been blessed with your past donations and appreciate your continued support!! Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
