Our family received devastating news at the end of 2024. My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I never expected to hear those words, even though we could see the decline each and every day. My mom once was a social butterfly, who would always seek out strangers to start a conversation with. Until one day that all changed. She started having difficulty expressing her thoughts and being able to follow a conversation. This was hard for her and everyone. Something that brought her so much joy was all of a sudden taken away from her. There are many other things that have been taken away from her. The ability to easily do math, remember random dates, remember birthdays, the list goes on. All of which were part of her before this disease. I am advocating for my mom and for research for a cure to end Alzheimer’s.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for your support!
