Welcome to our team page for the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®! The Walk is the largest event to raise funds and awareness for the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®. It’s held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, and our team is honored to participate this year.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's, and over 11 million family and friends provide unpaid care to support them. We walk to honor them—and to end this devastating disease for good.
We’re walking in memory of a remarkable man: Deacon Jimmy Michael Caldwell.
Jimmy was more than just my father. He was a faithful servant, a wise teacher, a quiet protector, and the kind of man who did the right thing even when no one was looking. He gave nearly five decades of his life to public service in the federal government and an even longer service to his church and community. A deacon, a prison ministry leader sharing the gospel with local inmates, and a mentor to so many, Jimmy poured himself out for others until the very end. Never the loudest in the room, but the gems he shared with me and many of us during our one-on-one conversations will forever ring loudly in our memories.
He fought Alzheimer's with the same quiet strength he brought to every challenge, never losing his caring and comforting spirit. Watching him navigate this disease was painful, but it deepened my understanding of love, faith, and endurance. He passed April 2025, and while we miss him dearly, we walk with our heads high because he left behind a legacy of humility, excellence, and grace.
Our team, Jimmy's Memory Makers, walks for every family affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. We are especially mindful of the urgent needs within the Black community, where disparities in healthcare access, early diagnosis, and representation in research continue to persist. At the same time, we walk shoulder-to-shoulder with families of all backgrounds and all walks of life. Alzheimer’s does not discriminate, and neither should our compassion.
This walk is a step toward unity, awareness, and healing. Whether you're donating, walking, or simply remembering with us, your generosity is part of the solution.
So we walk. With purpose. With prayer. With hope for better care, better understanding, and one day—a cure.
Thank you for supporting Jimmy's Memory Makers and the Alzheimer’s Association. Your kindness truly makes a difference in continuing Jimmy's legacy of service.
