No one expects to receive an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, especially for someone as intellectually advanced as my father. John spent decades in the pharmaceutical industry as a toxicologist seeking cures and better treatments for diseases. In 2018, John suffered a stroke prompting an unveiling into his personal diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. He fought long and hard against Alzheimer's, and on July 14th, his body was no longer in pain.
My dad loved his family, friends, and dog Princess. The first time he met anyone they would eventually know how much my father loved to wear aJohn participated in a clinical trial with Syrentis research center for the newly approved drug Leqembi. Every two weeks we take dad for his infusions with the hope his next PET scan will show reduction in the effects of Alzheimer’s. This new treatment is just one step on the way to finding more care and support for those with Alzheimer’s and their loved ones.
My father passed away peacefully on July 14th. We spent our last moments together singing his favorite songs, listening to his favorite music, and reminiscing on our favorite memories of Dad. He was one of a kind, and will be truly missed.
In memory of John, please consider making a donation or joining our team to help find more treatments to end Alzheimer’s disease.
