In Memory of my mother Patti, and for every other family like ours
I can't put into words what it’s like to watch someone you love slowly slip away, not all at once, but in moments. At first, it was small things: forgotten words, a little confusion. But then, day by day, Alzheimer’s took more. It stole her memories, her laughter, her sense of joy and confidence.
Alzheimer’s doesn’t just steal from one person. It takes from everyone who loves them.
Our family also lost years of connection, conversation, and shared memories. We lost the mother we knew long before we lost her physically. And yet, through all of it, we held onto hope. Love doesn’t fade, even when memory does.
That’s why I am walking this year—to honor my mom, and to fight for a future where no family has to endure this kind of loss.
I walk with the hope that someday, Alzheimer's is a disease of the past.

Thank you, in memory of Patti,
