The Experience

The GROUP RIDE Experience

Are you ready for the best-supported cross-state cycling event in South Carolina? During our 3-day Group Ride, we take care of all of the details. Rest stops every 10-15 miles are stocked with water, Gatorade, and nutrition. Multiple SAG vehicles cover the routes, including mechanical and medical support, and a sweeper that will never pass the final rider. For safety, we provide police traffic assistance throughout the event as well as a police escort in the high traffic areas entering Charleston.

Lunch and celebratory beverages are provided at the finish line each day. Nightly dinners (including the famous smoked chicken in Orangeburg) are provided, as well as daily luggage transport. Lodging is the responsibility of each rider with discounted rates available. The weekend ends with a Celebration Dinner in the beautiful Charleston area. Motorcoach and bike transportation is available pre and post Ride from Mount Pleasant to Simpsonville on Thursday and Monday.

To get an idea of all that happens during Ride weekend, check out the 2022 South Carolina Ride Guide to see this past year's schedule, the routes, and each day's activities. A few details will change for 2023 but you'll get the idea of the weekend from last year's guide. The updated 2023 Ride Guide will be published as we get closer to July!

Think of Ride to End ALZ South Carolina as a scenic road trip adventure with plenty of support and lots of new friends. Register today and join us in the fight to #ENDALZ!

The Group Ride is a road cycling event along South Carolina roadways and is intended for avid road cyclists. It can be an intense challenge due to back-to-back days in the saddle as well as the July heat. Adequate training is a must! While we welcome riders of all levels, less experienced cyclists are encouraged to consider just one day of the route or to opt for our month-long Virtual Challenge.

The Virtual Challenge is a perfect fit for cyclists of all kinds. Whether you are a road cyclist, a casual cruiser, a spin/Peloton enthusiast, or a mountain biker, the Virtual Challenge is a great way for you to ride anytime, anywhere, and any way while raising funds and supporting the cause to #ENDALZ!
