Philip's Ride to End Alzheimer's
My name is Philip Goddard, and my mother-in-law Jane has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease for about five years. Jane, Grandma Jane, Ma, Nana Jane, all of these names and nicknames add up to a wonderful person with a wonderful life that she is unfortunately forgetting all about. Jane will be 91 years old this October, is a mother to three grown children, a grandmother to eight grandchildren, and a great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren. She loves ice cream, Egg Foo Young, and the spiciest food she can get her hands on; the spicier, the better. My wife Peggie, Jane's youngest child, and I added a mother-in-law apartment on to our house many years ago where she could live. In that time, her memories have begun to slip away and my wife and I have become her primary caregivers. Alzheimer's disease has taken so much of my mother-in-law away, and even though I do so much for her every day, I wanted to do more. That is why I'm particpiating in the Ride to End Alzheimer's again this year, and plan to ride 100 miles in one day in June! It will be another lone ride due to the pandemic, so I really would appreciate your encouragement! Your donation would mean the world to me and my family. Thank you in advance for donating, and let's #EndAlz together!
