Thomas A. Despres passed away peacefully in his home on March 26, 2024, after many years of living with Alzheimer's disease.
Tom was Emeritus Professor of Engineering at the University of Michigan and founded and ran Cold Saw Precision Company, inventing new, safer, and more accurate processes for sawing the steel parts that make your vehicles run. He leaves behind five children and nine grandchilden.
Tom remained generous and loving to the end, although the disease robbed him of the ability to fully participate in life. We are deeply grateful for the kindness and professionalism of the caregivers who provided professional, tender care to him as the disease gradually progressed.
