A Bryce Carey December 2, 1937 - February 4, 2024

The family of Alden Bryce Carey is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear Dad and Papa on February 4th, spending his final days in hospice care at his home in memory care in Granite Bay. He leaves behind his daughter Andrea Carey Hess, his son Scott Carey and daughter-in-law Karri Carey, and four grandchildren: Alexandra Hess, Brett Hess, Madelynn Carey and Matthew Carey. Born and raised in Fresno, Bryce was a proud Sigma Chi at Fresno State University where he met his wife of 37 years, Sue Carey. Together they raised their two children in Stockton. After many years in the banking industry, Bryce founded Carey Development Company as a well-respected custom home builder in the Stockton and Lodi area. Golf and cards were a favorite pastime with friends whose company he enjoyed for many years as a member at Stockton Golf & Country Club. Bryce enjoyed traveling, fine dining, and playing blackjack in Tahoe. In 2013, Bryce moved to the Sacramento area to be closer to family. He is survived by two sisters, Irene Ziglar and Janice Boyle. Private graveside services will be held at East Lawn Cemetery in Sacramento near the resting place of his parents, Alden C. Carey and Maxine Carey. His immediate family will celebrate his life according to his wishes - with great food and wine while sharing the many happy memories that made us lucky enough to call him our Dad and Papa.
