Janet Zubersky, age 72 (May 4, 1949) passed away on July 3, 2021. Janet lived in Littleton, Colorado near her two daughters and their families, Katie and Scott McCaleb and Kristin and Shane Steadman. Jan was born in South Bend, Indiana to Barbara and Bill Cissne. She has a brother, John Cissne (deceased) and a sister, Judy McClure, who resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In July of 1996, Jan was married to John Zubersky (deceased), in Albuquerque, where they raised their blended family of 5 children, Shannon Zubersky, Kristin Steadman, Kendra Williams (deceased), Katie McCaleb, and Wade Zubersky (deceased). Jan loved being a grandmother to her 4 grandchildren, Cameron McCaleb, Ian McCaleb, Kaitlyn Steadman, and Zach Steadman, and she was gifted with 4 years of living near her grandchildren in Littleton watching them grow up and spending holidays with them.

Jan had a very strong passion for social justice issues, and was an advocate for equity and equality. She was a nurturing and loving friend, wife, mother, and grandmother. No one ever cried alone when they were with Jan, she was quick to offer a hug, a helping hand, and a joke.

She loved to travel and explore new places and always said that her 2 favorite places to visit were Glacier National Park and New Zealand. She loved history, music, stained glass, and made the best lasagna!

Jan lived with Alzheimer’s for 10 years, and while this terrible disease took so much from her, it did not take her fighting spirit and sense of humor. In lieu of flowers, Jan’s family is asking for donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
