After a 13 year struggle with Alzheimer's Disease, Vascular Dementia, and most recently Pancreatic Cancer, Pasquale went home to be with our Lord. He continued to paint and sing and create until the disease robbed him of his joys, ability to speak, and function.
~My Father's Hands~
As I hold these hands, I notice the lines with intricate details laden from time
These hands did cradle
These hands did scold
Hands gifted with such talent
These hands were bold
They were detailed with a paint stroke and firm with a grip
Age has robbed their strength, now they wearily slip
They were soiled and paint splattered
At times, too busy to play
Providing us with what mattered
ALWAYS teaching us how to pray
The lessons taught in their lines, may seemingly grow old
Hands I will remember, cherish and hold, firmly with admiration even after they're cold
