Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Some of you may recall this photo of me taken a few years ago speaking at our state capital for legislative change, directly impacting those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Although my personal journey has changed significantly, my fight hasn’t! My cognitive impairments are directly related to a neurological muscular disease that I have been living with for 14 years. Although I do not have Alzheimer’s, my daily struggles with memory impairment related to my neuromuscular disease is a stark reminder of the endless concern and worry of the daily challenges. It reminds me that this is a cause worth fighting for. Although my limitations may not allow me to physically participate in the actual walk, that’s okay, because I have my voice.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you
