Amy Dobson's ALZ Stars Fundraising Page
Hi friends,
I have registered to run the 2022 Chicago Marathon as part of the ALZ Stars fundraising group. As many of you know, my mother, Judy Khetani, is suffering from Alzheimer's. All funds raised through my efforts will benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care, support programs, and advance research for treatment, prevention, and ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
Before Alzheimer's, my mom was an energetic and dynamic woman who always had a project going. She was physically strong, independent, and capable. She instilled in me a love of the outdoors. Exercise was simply a way of life. She was active and always moving. I know that if she were still well at her current 81, she'd be swimming in the lake, picking blueberries, creating art, traveling with my dad, and quilting blankets for her grandkids. I am running this race to not only honor that woman, but also to help support efforts to fight this crippling disease.
I’ve wanted to run the Chicago Marathon for years — no hills! yay! — and am very excited to hit the road to support the Alzheimer’s Association this October. If you'd like to contribute to my fundraising effort, please click the donate button at the top of this page. Good thoughts and prayers are also very welcome and supportive! Please feel free forward to share this with anyone who might be interested.
Sincerely,
Amy
