IN MEMORY OF
Shirley (Mom) and Lydia (TuTu) Pereira
I can't believe it's been 6 years since Mom's passing; I think about her and miss her every day. Another year has gone by and we're still in the fight to find a cure for Alzheimer's/Dementia. My mission continues as I raise funds and promote awareness for this devastating disease.
Do you know…
• Alzheimer’s begins 20 years or more before the onset of symptoms.
• 6.5 million Americans (age 65 and older) are living with Alzheimer’s & Dementia in 2022 and seventy-three percent are over the age of 75.
• 1 in 3 seniors die from Alzheimer's or another form of dementia.
Volunteering for the past six years on the planning committee for the Walk to End Alzheimer's, facilitating a monthly Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group, and co-facilitating the quarterly brain game exercise classes keep me active in fighting for a cure. I'm honored to be involved with a team of amazing people who are just as passionate as I am about finding a cure. We're always looking for people to join us. If you're interested in helping, please contact me at shiral@simplyshiral.com.
Thank you to those who’ve walked with us on walk day and continued to support us by raising funds to find a cure. My family and friends have been participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s for over a decade, and because of your generosity, we’ve raised $26,951 to date. I am so grateful!!!
Every year I raise money to find a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.
I walk for myself because I can inherit this disease,
I walk for my family who can inherit this disease,
I walk for you because you may get this disease
and most of all,
I walk every year in memory of the beautiful woman I'm honored to call my MOM.
Much Aloha,
Shiral
