On June 12th 2017 my grandma passed away peacefully after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. This women was my rock, my best friend and my teacher. Watching her decline over the last few years was one of the most painful times in my life. And although I know she is in a better place losing her has left me heart broken. In her honor I will walk again this year to help raise money so we can work to end this horrible disease. No one should have to watch their loved one for get who they are, to forget how to do the simplest daily tasks, to fade away in to a darkness of unknowing fear that comes with the awful disease.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
