Drew Wilford McGarr Tribute
Dad was diagnosed in 2010 with Alzheimer's Disease. Despite the changes he went through over the next eight years as a result of this horrific disease, Dad was so cheerful and appreciative of everything and everyone around him. His kindness to others, and positive attitude was an inspiration to many and will remain his legacy. Our saving grace was he never lost his incredible sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh.
One of his favorite quotes he kept on his refrigerator was:
"Humor diffuses stress...
Pulls bricks out of the walls that come between us, and helps us to remember why we liked each other in the first place."
As a family, we have so many wonderful memories of Drew. He loved his wife, Yvonne, who was his true soulmate. He was very proud of his three children. He adored his five grandchildren and loved walking his three grand dogs, as well. His lifelong love for Auburn football was never taken away. He still yelled "War Eagle" and was always the life of the party even up until the end.
We will miss him dearly.
