Hello family, friends, and colleagues,
As many of you know, supporting the work of the Alzheimer’s Association is personal to me and I am passionate about finding a cure for the disease. 2022 and 2023 have provided meaningful hope resulting from the research the Alzheimer's Association has funded due nearly entirely from personal donations. There have been exciting new treatments that have been shown to slow the progress of the disease and there have been many other developments linked to research that was directly or indirectly linked to grants made by the Alzheimer's Association. Recently CMS has approved Lequembi to be covered through Medicare thanks to the attention brought to it by the Alzheimer’s Association. Without your generosity these developments would not have been possible!
My brother-in-law, Kai, battled the disease for over a decade. I can’t imagine what having access to these new treatments would have meant to Kai and his wife, my sister, Liz. Liz served as his caregiver during his entire journey, which sadly ended with his passing in 2020. The Alzheimer's Association is still the top provider of resources and support to caregivers.
Kai, and millions of others have missed out on a cure. So in the meantime, as we wait for further advances and a cure, I am passionate about helping those afflicted with this terrible disease and providing resources for those that are caregivers to, or living with, someone with Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s Association is the one stop place for those affected by all forms of dementia, and of course, Alzheimer’s Disease.
Alzheimer’s is a devastating disease and right now over 6million Americans are living with it. It is the sixth leading cause of death in the US. It takes a terrible toll on the caregivers because it is truly a thankless job.
I’m proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association and in 2022 I took that passion to another level by being elected to serve as a Board Member of the National Alzheimer’s Association. This was after more than 10 years as aboard member in the Southern California and then the Northern California chapters. For over 10 years Lisa and I have supported the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This year’s walk is September 28 at Lake Cunningham Park in San Jose. Your support of me in the walk will help to fund research, advocacy at the local, state, and federal level and resources for those living with and caring for someone with the disease. Please join me by making a donation in any amount to the Alzheimer’s Association by clicking the link below.
Thank you for your donation.
