For the past 11 years working in healthcare, I’ve had the honor of meeting and caring for many individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease.
I’ve seen firsthand the devastating impact this disease has—not just on those diagnosed, but on their families, friends, and caregivers. I’ve sat with people who no longer recognized their loved ones, held hands during moments of confusion and fear, and listened as they longed to “go home,” even while living in a care facility. I’ve also been there for family members, offering support during some of their most difficult days.
Though I haven't experienced Alzheimer’s in my immediate family, I’ve loved and cared for many residents and their families as if they were my own. This disease doesn’t just affect memory—it touches every aspect of a person’s identity and every relationship they hold dear.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping—and neither are we.
That’s why we’re proud to participate in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, raising critical funds to support 24/7 care, advocacy, and to help accelerate research that gives families hope for the future.
