I am walking in the memory of my grandma, Jeanne Ruxlow. She was a caring individual that loved everyone. If you would go to her house to visit, you would always be offered a drink or food. If you declined anything at that time, she would let you visit for a short time and then offer it to you again. When my grandma would forget where she was or doing things differently and would repeat herself, we took her to the doctor to find out that she had the start of Alzheimer's. The doctor prescribed medicine that would slow it down but eventually it came to the point that we made the decision to put her in a nursing home because it got too bad.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for your support!
