My journey with long-term care started at a very young age. My grandmother was an administrator at a senior living community, and I would often stop by on my way home from school. I still remember walking in and being greeted by the residents—people who quickly became more than just friendly faces. They were storytellers, teachers, and friends. Those early experiences shaped my life, and from that moment on, I’ve had the joy and privilege of knowing so many incredible individuals living with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
This cause is deeply personal for me. Not only have I cared for residents as part of my career, but my own family has been touched by this disease. Both of my great-grandmothers had dementia, and walking alongside them through their journeys left a lasting impact on me. It gave me a true understanding of the challenges families face, as well as the beauty of the moments we still get to share.
Because of these experiences, I’m passionate about being a voice for those living with dementia. Advocacy and awareness are at the heart of finding a cure, and until that day comes, I will continue to walk, care, and fight for those affected.
If you are able, I would be so grateful for your donation to support this cause. And if donating isn’t possible, please consider sharing my page. Every bit of awareness helps shine a brighter light on this disease—and brings us one step closer to ending Alzheimer’s.
Thank you for your support!
