Why I Walk? I walk for my mom.
She’s living with Alzheimer’s, and we’re now entering the later stages of this long and difficult journey. Each day brings changes — some expected, many not — and through it all, we do our best to show up with love, patience, and grace. It isn’t easy. But we’re not alone.
The Alzheimer’s support group I attend has been a lifeline. A place of understanding, comfort, and shared strength. The stories, resources, and people I’ve connected with there have helped me stay grounded and hopeful — even on the hard days.
I also walk in memory of Ric’s dad, who lived with a form of dementia. His journey, too, showed us how important it is to advocate for brain health, early detection, and compassionate care.
This cause is personal. It touches so many — not just those diagnosed, but the families, friends, and caregivers walking beside them.
I walk to raise awareness. I walk to support research. I walk because no one should have to face Alzheimer’s alone.
If you can, please support this cause. Every step counts, and every donation brings us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.
With gratitude, Christie
