My mother’s journey with Alzheimer’s started the day she called me at work and said “the computer isn’t working, what did you do to it”, when I hadn’t done anything to it. I asked my mom is something the matter. She paused and said “I’m scarce and don’t where I was today when I woke up.” This happened in April 2022. We ended up in the ER May 7, 2022 and the ER doctor said she has Alzheimer’s, do you have a plan for her pain and care? I would recommend home hospice to minimize her trips to the ER so she can be in her own home and watched 24/7. By July 6, 2022, her fight was over. It took my beautiful mother away. Not only did her body give up but so did that quick wit she always had growing up. I will never forget her journey with this horrible disease. I am committed to being part of the solution for my community. Please donate to find a cure and to help enhance resources for those living with it.
Alzheimer's isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for your support!
