My team is raising funds to honor Mike McQuiston, known as McQ, and his wife Darci. McQ became the North Hudson Pepper Fest King in 2006, and Darci was sashed as the St. Paul Winter Carnival Klondike Kate in 2009. Shortly after this McQ started experiencing the first signs of early-onset Alzheimer's disease. He was in his late 50s. It took until 2014 for the diagnosis to be confirmed by Mayo Clinic.
The McQuiston's search for information led them to access the Alzheimer's Association website, which also provided phone numbers for support.
McQ was peacefully released from Alzheimer's disease in January of 2024. McQ would be happy to be associated with the Walk to End Alzheimer's. He always tried to make a positive difference in the world, and this work does just that.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
