Alzheimer’s has touched my life in ways that feel deeper and more relentless than even cancer. With some cancers, there’s a chance for a cure, a light at the end of the tunnel. But Alzheimer’s? It’s a thief that steals memories, identities, and connections, with no cure in sight—yet. That’s why I’ve shifted my focus from fighting cancer through Obliteride to joining the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This fight is personal.
I’m walking to honor my grandmother Marion, whose vibrant spirit was dimmed by this disease. My stepfather Larry, now facing early dementia, reminds me daily of what’s at stake. My aunt Patty ‘Pork,’ my friend Anne, my neighbor Van, and my friend’s father, the late Dr. Hugh Crowder—these are just a few of the countless lives touched by Alzheimer’s. Each name carries a story, a memory I hold dear, and a reason to keep pushing forward.
But there’s hope. A recent small clinical trial with Creatine showed incredible promise, with 100% of participants improving cognitive function. It’s a spark, a reminder that progress is possible. Our memories are our greatest superpower—they hold who we are, who we love, and what we’ve overcome. I’m fighting to protect that power for everyone, and I need you with me.
Will you join me in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s? Your donation or participation will fuel critical research and provide 24/7 care for families facing this disease. Together, we can turn hope into action and fight for a future where memories are preserved, not stolen. Can I count on you?
