My mom was my favorite person in the whole universe. She welcomed everyone with open arms into our home and always had a plate of food ready for you. She made the best tacos and tamales. She loved to dance and learn. She was my best friend.
Unfortunately, mom was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's in 2016 at only age 55. She was showing signs at least 2 years prior. It was hard to watch her deteriorate over the years and know that there was nothing we could do to fix it. She lost her battle this year, but I will continue to fight in her honor.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
