Thank you for visiting my page, for considering joining our team, or donating to this worth cause-
Many, if not all of you, know my mom, Teri Frost.
Mom was diagnosed in 2018 and has resided in a memory care center for the past three years.
She is not alone, as there are more than 6 million Americans afflicted with this disease and related dementias. There are now two drugs that can be used in early Alzheimer's to favorably affect the course of this disease and more in the research pipeline, including possible ways to stop or decrease the formation of the proteins (beta-amyloid and tau) in the brain! In addition, biomarkers are being developed that may allow both non-invasive and inexpensive diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. A simple blood test may even soon be available that may identify those susceptible to Alzheimer's years before the disease occurs. Such a test, combined with new and more effective drugs, could potentially prevent the disease from even occurring in those susceptible! Through your donations to the Alzheimer's Association, the organization has been able to provide nearly $100M yearly toward this necessary research. The Walk to End Alzheimer's is a great opportunity to become involved. Many of you have joined my team in the past and I again thank you. I hope you will choose to join my team at Team Navy 2023 again or for the first time if you have not previously joined. In Dallas, the annual walk will be held on November 4, 2023, and walks around the country will generally be held around this time of year. If you are in the Dallas area, of course I would be grateful and honored if you could walk with me on our team on that date.
