Hello everyone!!
If you're not familiar with our story, here's a short summary. In 2013, I became a full time caregiver for my great aunt Willene and her sister (my grandmother). My grandmother had fallen and broken her hip and Willene suffered from what we thought was Alzheimer's dementia. Turns out Willene had a different type of dementia, vascular dementia. However, Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia and I hope and pray that one day researchers will find a cure!!! I lived with and took care of Willene for two hard but beautiful years! Willene was called home to be with Jesus in the summer of 2017. I am so thankful for the beautiful memories and time that God allowed me to spend with her and I pray for all of you who know someone, cared for someone, and/or lost someone to dementia. It is devastating to watch them decline and then to lose them again when they are called home.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
With love and friendship,
