Your kindness and generosity truly make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. Currently, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's and over 11 million family and friends provide their unpaid care. This disease is commonly referred to as the "long goodbye" as it depletes memories and relationships over time. It affects not only the individual but also their families who have to remain strong, watching their loved ones 'slip away' from who they once were, all while trying to deal with their own emotions of guilt, anger, sadness, and frustration.
Robert J. Livingston, aka "Baba", was my grandfather and a truly unforgettable man. A tried and true Jersey City man and one of honor as a retired vet who served our country in WWII. He loved his family dearly and was hard-working, supporting them through three jobs to give them everything and more until he retired in the early 90s. He always had a funny story and some uncanny wisdom that can only be defined as Robert/Baba-isms. He was the original prankster, constantly keeping you on your toes whenever he was around. He is one of the many faces of this horrible disease and your help gets one step closer to finding cures.
You can impact with a donation or even join my team to walk in September.
This year's walk is Sunday, September 22, 2024 @ 9am. It will be held in Bradley Beach and a meet-up spot for the team before the walk will be determined at a later date. Hope to see you there and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support!
