"There won't be a cure in dad's lifetime, but we're going to make sure there is one in ours." This has been our mantra since dad was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia at age 57. Dad died in October 2022, and we are working hard to keep that promise.
My amazing teammates at Howard County Community Hospice provided outstanding care for Dad (alongside the fabulous staff at Aase Haugen in Decorah) for the thirteen months prior to his death. This year HCCH has started a team and our staff will be walking together alongside our volunteers/patients/family members/community members. Everyone is welcome to join our team, or make a donation to our team to help us end Alzheimer's and other dementia.
