Some of Gerry's cognitive decline may be associated with being struck by a car while he was riding his bike in Tucson in 2004.
In October 2016, tests found Gerry's memory loss to be profound and likely to have significant negative impact on day-to-day functioning.
April 2018 results from a second MRI and a second neuropsychological evaluation most closely match what one would expect to see in an individual with early onset Alzheimer's.
At his most recent appointment, Gerry's neurologist confirmed early onset Alzheimer's and recommended him for in-home hospice because his care needs have dramatically increased.
Gerry has been a very accomplished endurance athlete his whole life and is convinced that exercise not only keeps the body healthy, but the mind also.
Gerry walks to remind all those suffering from any type of dementia to NEVER GIVE UP, keep your body moving, and exercise will keep your mind moving.
Gerry wishes "Grace and Peace" to you.
