The link above is is a video of butterfly bushes that my mother took and re-potted. As they grew, my dad planted them in the ground. I love seeing the butterflies flutter. It gives me some peace that these bushes are planted in my parent's garden. They reflect so many aspects of my mom's character: beautiful, sweet, nurturing, delicate, and full of life.My mother was diagnosed with dementia in 2007. Although, she showed early symptoms in 2004. She passed away at the end of June 2017. My heart is and will forever need mending. No words can express over a decade of loss that my family and I have experienced. I have hope for an optimistic future for victims of dementia and Alzheimer's, their loved ones, and their caregivers. Ultimately, my goal is to educate and relate to others because as a caregiver you can't help to feel alone. I want to let people know that they are not alone in their struggle. We are all in this together. We will find someone to represent the first white flower.
