Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
It has been 17 years since I lost my twin sister, Darlene, to Alzheimers Disease. She was a vibrant medical social worker and just beginning to meet her newly born first grandsons, also twins. I feel sadness in my heart when I think of all she has missed and all that our family has missed without her in our lives.
