In bowling, 3 strikes is called a turkey; this is our 3rd year of walking and if you know Daddy, you know TURKEY was a favorite of his. A lot has changed since Cheech's Champions was formed. Daddy left this world on March 28th and we are forever changed. How lucky are we that we got to know him, love him, be in his presence and learn from him? Amazingly, in the short time that we’ve been without him, more advancements have been made in Alzheimer's research. There are now more options and medicines available for those in the early stages, something that makes us very excited for the future.
This walk, and fundraising effort, is not only for Frank Pennimpede; it is for the other members of our family who were and are afflicted, about others in our communities, and about those who will be diagnosed in the future.
We are lucky to have learned from Daddy how important it is to give. He gave so much to so many- his time, money, talents, love, laughter, and more. How could we NOT walk to raise money to end Alzheimer’s and give to those who are currently suffering and will be diagnosed in the future, as well as their support systems?
If you’re unable to walk with us, please consider donating to this association and cause. My greatest joy in life is my father, and I’d love nothing more for us to give our time and money to ensure that this disease is eradicated.
