I walk for my Dad, Richard. He was an amazing man who lost his battle with Alzheimer's in October 2015. His greatest joy in life was his family ~ being a husband, father and grandfather. The hardest thing I have had to do is see my father go through the stages of Alzheimer's. Watching him slowly forget all of us and all the wonderful memories we have shared was heartbreaking beyond words.
I walk because I couldn't stop Alzheimer's from taking my Dad. I can't promise my children it won't happen to me or someone else they love. I walk to raise awareness and raise money to help support the Alzheimer's Association in hopes to find a cure one day.
