I'm walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research care and support.
My father Colonel Russell Baugh was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2002. His journey ended on September 11, 2014. And my mother-in-law Beverly Craig also lost her battle with Alzheimer's on March 3, 2019. But other friends and family still struggle with the disease, including my mother, who was recently moved into memory care. I am walking so that a cure can be found and others will not have to experience this devastating disease.
Currently more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. With a history of Alzheimer's in our family (grandfather, grandmother and parents) my husband Tim and I are at risk - we want to find a cure for everyone who might be faced with this cruel disease in the future.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease the Association offers care education support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.</p>
