I'm walking in the Boulder Walk to End Alzheimer's on Saturday, October 7, 2023 in honor of my mom, Millie, and for my cousin, Mona.
My mom lived a full and joyful life of 88 years. For the last 18 of those years, she had Alzheimer's Disease but remained sweet and cheerful, spreading joy to everyone.
Mona was just 60 years old when she passed of early onset Alzheimer's in January, 2018. She had been bedridden for the last two years.
This is an exciting time full of hope for people living with Alzheimer's and their loved ones. There are TWO new drugs that are showing wonderful promise for people suffering with Alzheimer's. By participating in the 2023 Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. Up until now, Alzheimer's was the ONLY disease for which there is no effective treatment and no cure but there is more HOPE than ever before.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.
