I'm walking in support of my residents, whose struggles and triumphs I experience every day, and for my friend Pat. My residents are a constant reminder of the world with Alzheimer's and the daily struggle with yourself that Alzheimer's causes. As for my friend Pat, she was more than just my friend. I was present for all of Pat's journey through Alzheimer's, which for her was fairly quick, just 3 years. To this day I can't hear the song Let Me Call You Sweetheart and not think of Pat. That may be easy for most of you as that song is decades old but working with the elderly everyday I hear it multiple times a week.
This cause gives my life purpose in a way nothing else ever has. I confront Alzheimer's in my every day life and I wouldn't want to fight it any other way. :)
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
