I am involved in this walk as a way to honor my Mum, Dolores Kirby. If you were lucky enough to have met her, you know she was a powerful, joyful woman of faith with boundless energy. In the last years of her life, Mum had dementia. She was still joyful and still energetic; however, she was fuzzy on all the details. She sang and danced and baked cookies and lived her best possible life at Presbyterian Senior Care-Woodside. She could no longer sew or read or help us sort through difficult decisions. It is the horror of Alzheimer and all types of dementia, that the person that you know is slowly erased to a shell of who they were.
This walk is to bring awareness and funds to help the researcher find a cure. It is unusual to talk to someone who has not been touched by this disease. Let’s work together to help find a cure now. Please, consider helping us with a donation, come to the walk. You will benefit from the energy of hope- a shared desire to end this disease, for all the Mums and Dads and Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles and Partners and Spouses and friends. I sincerely thank you for anything that you can donate. If you are not in a position to donate, your prayers are welcome too. Please share this link with anyone you know who might want to help. I thank you for your support.
