In Loving Memory of my Dad.
As many of you know, my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s about eight years ago. I had heard of the disease before, but nothing could prepare me for the day he no longer knew my name. As the youngest of his three daughters, I was proud to be “Daddy’s Little Girl.” As a child, I could often be found running alongside him, cheering him on in the hundreds of races he participated in.
He taught me to play chess, Mastermind, and to love a good jigsaw puzzle. He was a master of the New York Times crossword puzzle and passed down his love for New York City—and especially the Brooklyn Bridge—to me and his granddaughters. My Dad wasn’t just my Dad; he was one of my very best friends.
On Saturday, August 8, 2025, he finally found the peace he so richly deserved. I pray for the day when a cure is found, so that my children and future generations will never have to endure the heartache this disease brings.
Thank you for reading, for remembering my dad, and for supporting the fight against Alzheimer’s. Your kindness means more than words can say.
With love,
Mindy
