I first learned about Alzheimer’s disease as an intern for former Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, who chaired the Bipartisan Congressional Task Force on Alzheimer’s Disease, who psssionately advocated for the disease as Senator Toomey’s father is battling Alzheimer’s. Since then, I have served as a Board Member for the Youth Movement Against Alzheimer’s, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and volunteered extensively with the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
As many of my friends, family, peers, colleagues, and classmates know, I have been a longtime fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association. In a few short weeks, I will be joining more than 30,000 Philadelphians advocating for a world without Alzheimer’s and Alzheimer’s-like dementia.
More than 7,000,000 Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. It is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States. In 2024, Alzheimer’s cost the American taxpayers more than $360,000,000,000. This number is expected to rise to nearly $1 trillion by 2050.
In the eight years since I started walking to end Alzheimer’s, I am proud to share I have raised more than $20,000 to #EndAlz, and this year, I am aiming to raise $5,000 in my ninth final year of walking. Please join me and the millions of others fighting for the memories of our loved ones by donating here. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support; with your help, we’re building a future to remember!
