I walk to honor my father, Dan McLean, who we lost to Alzheimer's in June of 2016 at the age of 57. As symptoms developed and progressed, my father regularly said, “We are so blessed." My dad possessed an adventurous spirit, quiet strength, an incredible sense of humor, and the ability to express love even as his days with us were limited. He treasured time spent in the company of his family. We called him the baby whisperer. He was patient, present, and a fun-loving grandpa to all his grandchildren. He showed up for all of us. We always felt his love. My boys and I regularly talk about the beautiful memories we share of him. He shaped our lives and we miss him every day.
I have hope that we can reclaim the future for millions. I have hope that my children will live in a world without Alzheimer's. Please join me by considering registering as a participant on TEAM DAN or by making a donation to support a world without Alzheimer's and services for those in need until we do. Our family is grateful for your consideration.
