Dear Family and Friends,
It is with heavy hearts that I share the sad news of our beloved mother's passing. She left us peacefully after a long and courageous journey with Alzheimer's disease on July 5, 2025. In her final days, she was surrounded by love from friends and family, around-the-clock personalized care from Havenwood and Grace Hospice, and we take comfort in knowing that she is free from the bondage that this disease put on her as she took her final flight to the Lord.
Although the disease gradually took parts of her from us, it never diminished her spirit, warmth, or the love she shared freely throughout her life. She first received the diagnosis 11 years ago (hence our $11K goal this year), while she was still on the Crow Wing County Board. Shortly after, she and my dad got her into every study they could at Mayo to slow down the degeneration, but at that time, there weren't many early-stage interventions that would help. Late this morning, we followed her wishes, and her body was driven to the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, where she had already decided to donate her organs to assist in their mission to prevent, delay, and possibly cure Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
Thank you for your love, support, and kindness during this difficult time. It means more than words can express.
Gratefully,
Quinn
