Last year I lost a dear friend to early onset Alzheimer's. Catherine was diagnosed at the age of 52 and died when she was just 60. Though I knew it was coming, her death was devastating in its unfairness.
Throughout her illness, Catherine and her family did what they could to support research which will someday eradicate Alzheimer's. Catherine participated in clinical trials and studies even after she realized that the research would not save her life. Even in death she continued to help others through organ donation for Alzheimer's research.
I miss Catherine very much. As long as I am able I will continue to walk, donate, and fund-raise to support the Alzheimer's Association and the work that they do to support patients and their families and to keep hope alive.
I invite you to walk with me to honor the memories of Catherine and everyone who has been lost to Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. I also humbly ask you to please donate to this important cause.
I appreciate your support of my walk and your donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you.
