Yes, the Walk and fesitivities are outdoors and will be held rain or shine. Please plan accordingly by checking the forecast and dressing for the weather. In the event of severe weather on the morning of the Walk, updates will be posted here on the event website. Participants who have opted in to receive text messages or emails will also get a notification if the Walk is delayed or postponed. These changes will only occur in cases of severe weather conditions.
Everyone attending the Walk, including children, must be registered.
When you arrive on Walk Day, a volunteer will ask your group to confirm registration adn show proof of registration. Accepted forms include:
Once you show one of these, you will receive a purple wristband, which serves as your entry pass to the event.
You can register online at the top of this website. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, but mobile and paper registration will be available on-site.
We encourage all participants to arrive early and explore the Walk Village before the Opening Ceremony begins. The Village is the heart of Walk Day and offers fun, connection and inspiration for everyone. Activities include:

There are two different route options this year but both routes have a mix of gravel and pavement. If you do not want to Walk the route you are more than welcome to join our cheer brigade after the Opening Ceremony. The more the merrier.
Leashed and vaccinated dogs are welcome. Please clean up after your pet and be mindful of those that may be afraid of dogs.

The land on which the Walk to End Alzheimer's - Chicago will take place on includes the traditional homelands of the Ho-Chunk, Otoe, Missouria, Iowas, Menominee, Meskwaki, Sauk, Miami, Wea, Piankashaw, Kickapoo, and Illini Confederacy Nations as well as the Concil of the Three Fires: Potawatomi, Ojibwe, and Odawa Nations.
