I was 17 when my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and my mom was just 52. She taught me so many beautiful things about life through her diagnosis but, there was also a lot of struggle as a result. One of my favorite things about her was her giving spirit. She always referred to herself as a giver, and it was true. One of the ways that I love to honor her memory is by giving back to my community. The Walk to End Alzheimer's is an extra special way for me to give back because I have such fond memories of participating in the walk with my mom. I will never forget the first walk that we attended. It was the first time we felt like we were not alone in the disease and how I got connected to the Alzheimer's community. This community was monumental in supporting us through my mom's disease process. Donation help allow the Alzheimer's association to continue to support those dealing with the disease but also helps support research to end Alzheimer's.
