Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping — and neither am I. This year, I’m once again joining the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, raising funds and awareness to help advance the fight against this devastating disease.
For me, it’s personal. My father Harold experienced dementia in the years before his death — a step toward Alzheimer’s. My grandfather, back in the early 1960s, had symptoms that no one called Alzheimer’s at the time. And in the 2000s, my Uncle George faced full-blown Alzheimer’s. By then, we knew too well the terrible reality of this disease.
I walk with the hope that the work being done today will build defenses against the mind-numbing impact of Alzheimer’s for our generation and the next.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever. With your support, the Alzheimer’s Association can continue leading in care, support, and groundbreaking research.
I invite you to join me — through a donation of any size, or simply by spreading awareness of Alzheimer’s in your circle.
While I hope to surpass my achievements last year of raising more than $5,000, your engagement at any level is powerful and will help move us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.
Thank you,
Dan Joraanstad
