BELPRE — Since its inception in 2004, Comfort Keepers of the Mid-Ohio Valley has been a supporter of the Alzheimer’s Association in its fight to end Alzheimer’s disease. Each year, the company sponsors a team to raise money and participate in the Walk to End Alzheimers’ event which is usually held in the early fall.
Comfort Keepers, a provider of in-home care throughout Wood and Washington counties from their Belpre location, has served as the Thank You Brigade sponsor of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event for the past four years.
In this role, the team greets and encourages all the walk participants with signs, banners and fanfare — bells, drums, pom poms, shakers and colored flowers — as they complete the walk! All these folks are working together raising money to find a cure for this terrible disease.
The 2022 event, held at Williamson Park in Williamstown on September 17, consisted of 63 teams, 378 individual participants and raised almost $77,000. The Comfort Keepers of the Mid-Ohio Valley team raised over $3,500 which was the 6th largest contribution of a Comfort Keepers franchise in the country and earned a matching corporate bonus of $500 from Comfort Keepers Franchising Inc./Sodexo.
How can you help to stop Alzheimer’s disease? The 2023 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Mid-Ohio Valley event will be held once again in Williamstown on September 16 and teams are forming now.
